Hiking holidays in South Tyrol – walking into happiness
Summer, sunshine and endless possibilities
Welcome to South Tyrol, the hikers’ dream destination! How about a leisurely walk to the meadows covering the sunny slopes of Mt. Plose? Or would you rather challenge the rocky peaks of the Dolomites? Whatever your choice, the Fernblick is conveniently located in the Eisacktal uplands to offer you a perfect starting point for your trekking or cycling pursuits.
Exploring South Tyrol’s mountains
The San Leonardo circular trail, starting right in front of our hotel, leads though shady woodland and sunny meadows and offers a stunning panorama featuring the Dolomites, the Zillertal Alps glaciers and bright blue skies. It takes two hours to complete this leisurely hike and get back to Hotel Fernblick. Another tip? Take the lifts to reach Mount Plose, where you can choose from a variety of trails running the gamut from unchallenging meadow walks to exciting climbs up the Gabler, Telegraph or Plose peaks.
Mountain bike tours in the Eisacktal valley
If a mountain bike tour of Mt. Plose is on your holiday bucket list, you will find the Hotel Fernblick the perfect starting point for that, too. Cycle to the lift valley terminal in Sant'Andrea, take the lift and choose your destination, e.g. the Rossalm mountain hut. Adventure-seekers can defy the steep curves of the Plose single trail for an extra serving of adrenaline!
Swimming, horse riding, paragliding & more
Whether in our outdoor pool, the Luson lake or the Acquarena waterpark in Bressanone, you will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy a refreshing dip. By the way, remember that BrixenCard holders enjoy free 3-hour admission to the Acquarena outdoor pool (Sundays and public holidays excluded). If you are seeking to spice up your holiday with a bit of adventure, options range from tandem paragliding flights on Mt. Plose to horse riding in San Leonardo – there is something to suit every taste!
Summer events in Bressanone
Every Thursday night in July and August the historic centre of Bressanone comes alive with the Summer Emotions festival. Residents, visitors and live music fill the ancient alleys, while gastronomic stalls offer a variety of local (and not so local) delicacies. Connoisseurs can also look forward to a number of wine-themed events focusing on the finest white wines of the Eisacktal valley.
